Annual financial statement 2012 shows ExtraEnergie as number 1 of privately held energy suppliers and among the Top 5 all over Germany

26.07.2013 – Neuss

ExtraEnergie reported a revenue of 1.077 billion Euros as well as a profit of 20.8 million Euros in the year of 2012. The company was audited by BDO. This means a significant improvement compared to the already profitable preceding year.

Undoubtedly ExtraEnergie is by now the number one energy supplier in the energy market.
“Our strategy to offer affordable prices on the market and to base our operations on a very solid and financially stable business model has proved effective. After the record year 2011, we have, on that basis, succeeded to exceed the targeted one billion euro mark with respect to revenue in 2012 already at an early stage,” said Managing Director Samuel Schmidt.

Expanding into new business segments in the German market, the group is expected to employ 1200 people at four locations in Neuss, Cologne, Chemnitz and Bochum. The Extra Group is planning to triple the size of its service and sales center in Vienna to 300 seats.

For the year 2013, ExtraEnergie (Germany) GmbH is expecting a further increase in revenue by more than 60% to 1.7 billion Euros and a rise in profitability by 400% to 80 million Euros. The first half of 2013 confirmed this forecast: About twice as many customers could be acquired in this period as had been acquired in the same period of the preceding year. It is also planned to make use of synergy effects by the subsidiaries’ portfolio (e.g. insurance, travel and telecommunication products) and to expand further fields of activity.
